If you love to cook, you need it! If you hate to cook, you also need it! The Vitamix makes cooking easier and more fun. It’s versatile and it performs fantastically. It’s easy to use (I still recommend to read the instructions. It gives tips on how to clean it and how to use the blades you have as well as the order in which to pour ingredients for a better blend), the power levels are impressive and effective, you can make a soup/cream and eat it warm/hot or you can make a smoothie or ice cream (it crushes ice like there’s no tomorrow ;) ) It will all depend on the setting you use. Also, if you take care of it, it lasts forever! We got the first one 13 years ago and we sold it cause we moved countries, but it was like new! I’m absolutely sure you’ll love it!

I have always wanted a Vitamix blender going as far back into the 1960s. My dietary needs because of a medical condition now means my diet is basically soft and liquefied foods. I had an Oster blender and that just wasn't going to work so I searched Amazon for a more powerful blender. I had come across another blender that looked like it would be perfect and was about to buy it when down lower on the same page it had this Vitamix. It was $100 cheaper and I was delighted that I could finally have a Vitamix. It arrived today and I was blown away with the sturdiness and quality of the base, the 64 oz jar and the tamper. After registering my blender on the Vitamix site and reading the directions, I made my 1st fruit smoothie. I am really happy with my early birthday present. I absolutely recommend you check this out and get it.

It is not my first Vitamix over the years. I recently had the classic 5200 model with the tall pitcher, but it was too tall. It too was reconditioned. It did lack a bit of power, though effective. This unit, reconditioned as well, as with EVERY Vitamix, looks brand new. I tried other brands before caving in and getting this unit. I only make smoothies and it blends, literally, to perfection. On its lowest setting, it is quiet and very effective. You put the dial up to 5, and that is more than enough power for me and what I use it for. Other blenders can be quite loud, but this one just works, does it at an acceptable noise level, and is very effective.

The company literally makes every reconditioned unit look new. They definitely provide brand new pitchers regardless the unit being reconditioned. I will say, I received a unit that has been reconditioned for a year. This is the result of Amazon getting these things in bulk from Vitamix and sitting in their warehouse. You are getting it literally and originally from Vitamix, it just so happens that Amazon buys them in bulk and they sit till ordered. The great thing about Vitamix is when I called them to register it for the 3 year warranty, they honored it from the purchase date, not the reconditioned date. That was great. They are one of the few companies to date that still use all English speaking reps, very knowledgeable on all their products, they pick up quick, and they will honor every aspect of your purchase determined to satisfy you as a customer. Phenomenal company.

I was reluctant to spend the money on a genuine Vitamix, even though I would always sit and watch the demonstrations in the stores or at the fair. Part of my hesitation was that I already had a high quality blender and couldn't imagine how much better it could be. Now my Vitamix sits on the counter and gets used almost daily.

Obviously, this unit doesn't have the "bells and whistles" of the top of the line Ascent series, but you're still able to do everything in the Vitamix world. Getting one may inspire you to upgrade and go with an Ascent series later, but if cost is an issue, this is a great way to get a Vitamix for hundreds of dollars less.

Should this thing have a downside, it's that it can get very loud on the highest setting. Others in your house may complain and there's no way you can have a conversation with anyone else in the kitchen while it's going, so that might be a reason to think about the higher end models. If you're able to set that issue aside, you'll get a great deal on a fantastic blender.
