I bought my HiBoy S2 about 5 months ago and I've ridden it long enough to feel good about giving a review.
First, the build quality is excellent and it's one good looking little scooter. I own a GoTrax sit down scooter and this is has a 30-ish% better build. There's nothing wrong with the GoTrax, it just doesn't feel quite as sturdy as the S2.
The S2 is reasonably comfortable to ride, although you can feel a lot of vibration on pavement due to the solid 8.5" tires, which I chose purposely for ease of maintenance, but the rear suspension smooths out bigger bumps. It's quick off the line, has reasonable top speed, and it handles hills well. The brakes are excellent and the front e-brake works as well as the drum brakes on my GoTrax. The headlight is excellent although I added an ultra bright bike light to it, and now I can see at least 30 meters ahead like it's daylight. The attractive red side lights look cool and make it more visible at night working in conjunction with the BRIGHT flashing tail/brake light. I'm in my 60's and disabled with a bad leg, so after riding it for a while I bought the removable seat because I didn't trust my reaction time enough to get myself out of a possible jam. I plan on using the seat till I become more confident balancing and leaning back while braking, although it's been a great addition by itself and I'll use it from time to time after I get more used to the scooter. It folds up well, even with the seat, although it adds just enough weight that I'm going to recommend one of those carrying straps if you do get the seat, it makes carrying it much easier and more comfortable to carry.
Would I recommend it to a close friend? Oh yes, no hesitation there.
I gave it four stars because 5 stars indicates perfection and nothing is perfect. That said, I only gave it 4 because 4.5 is unavailable. Although i own an automobile, i rely heavily on my micro-mobility vehicles, i own another scooter and an E-bike and this is the best of the three, this is a good scooter.

After a months use, I would say it is very reliable. I have not touched water with the scooter as recomended not to. The battery charges fast, has the exact mile range, is a bit hefty in weight, and travels max 13 mph. Assembly was a few screws and value was definitely worth the cost. This has saved me tons of time commuting in dry weather and is very easy for starters.

I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! The [Hiboy S2] scooter is everything I hoped for and more. It’s perfect for cruising by the waterfront, especially during those beautiful sunset rides. The build quality is top-notch, and it handles like a dream on various terrains (Best on flat pavements) Whether I’m riding in the early morning light or taking a dusk ride with the lights on, this scooter performs flawlessly.

The battery life is great as long as you’re not on sport mode, but let me tell you, sport mode is an absolute blast for short joyrides! The lights not only add a cool factor but also make riding at night safe and enjoyable. The design is sleek, modern, and definitely turns heads.

The only downside is that you can’t turn off the red lights—you have to have the front light on and red lights together.

This things is great. Its fast, has simple yet effective suspention, great light for riding at night, easily foldable/storable. Its easy to ride and has a solid feel. Has great speed and electric and hand brake in case you need to make a fast stop. It feels really sturdy/safe. Its holds charge quite well and I really enjoy using it. My only complaint is that the mode that actually goes 19mph sucks down the battery in what seems like 5 miles...The regular mode only goes 13mph if you want the full battery life. If you use the 19mph mode you're likely only getting 5 miles of charge (4 if you're using the lights). Overall, its great value and I highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase their own scooter.

3rd update: 14 months after purchase. I had an accident with this scooter and the throttle broke. I contacted the manufacturer to see if I could get a replacement and they offered to send me both the throttle and the broke. Phone holder, free of charge. Great customer service!
2nd update 4 months after purchase: I have to revise my review of this company once again. They are TOP in customer satisfaction, response, problem solving and inquiries. The scooter rides great, looks great and has a long battery life. Maybe in future they will reconsider the closure hook and use a better design there. They seem to be really focussed on their product and their customers so I believe they will continue improving over time.

UPDATE: The company "HiBoy" has been very open and eager to resolve our issues (below) and very supportive. For that reason I am happy to change my overall rating to 4 Stars (****) increased from 3.

This is a lovely scooter. Stylish, easy to use, solid tires (no flats!), disk brake, great lights, fast.

However there are two extremely important design drawbacks: UPDATE: Point 1 below is more of a dumb design but Point 2 below remains an important drawback.

1. The body of the scooter does not have any place where a lock can be passed through to securely lock the scooter outside if necessary.

UPDATE: After some research apparently it is possible to lock the scooter around the body just behind the front wheel (on the angled part). Provided that the lock is tight enough to the body that the scooter body or stem/headset can't be passed through the lock and removed, it is pretty secure. We have not tried this yet.

and….relating to the above and to the idea that there is no way to lock it up outside….

2. When we fold the scooter and clip the top to the rear fender, the “clip” in fact is an open hook which catches a spring action loop built into the rear fender. As long as you keep tension on that hook (ie by holding the scooter from that portion), the loop stays in the hook. As soon as the stem of the scooter relaxes toward the body, the hook falls out of the loop and the scooter opens up (“flops” open).

Given that the scooter is about 30lbs, it is reasonable that a normal person would occasionally “rest” the folded scooter while carrying it. But if s/he does, the scooter will awkwardly fall open and potentially cause damage or physical injury.

So where we ourselves really wanted to have a scooter that folded up for ease of transportation, it’s not well designed for that at all.

I anticipate our finding another way of securing the fold, perhaps by installing a rock-climbing clip somehow, so that the stem can be held securely attached to the body when folded. UPDATE: We did find a way to secure the fold. Our "solution" is not very functional and it's ugly as well. We are going to try locking as updated in Point 1 above, which will hopefully solve the problem.
